Welcome to the “last round” of this har series on Liars Tellin Lies Witout Lying!  This is the “last” of this series bout lyin.  In Part D, ah talked bout how folk’ll use “cognitive dissonance” to lie to y’all.  While the Part D way of lyin’s powerful an tricky, it can be purty hard to pull off, but the “rewards” (folk believin any old lie) can be wurth it to the liars.  This next way takes a lotta “heavy liftin”, but it’s purty simple to do.  It jus takes time.

Lying by Makin Believe Everone Else is Lying!

But in this part, ah’ll be splainin bout the most politically powerful way of lyin ah’ve see to date!  An it’s durned simple.  Convince folk that everone else is lyin then they’all’ll thunk yur the only one tellin them the “truth”.  In other wurds, that person becomes folk’s “Source of Truth(iness)“.

Now Pres Trump’s the only President ah can remember who dove into this pool wit both feet.  Ah haveta give him credit in that he dun not only “doubled down” on this, but ah thunk he “infinity downed” on it.  It seemed to be a core part of not only his Presidential campaigns, but his actual Presidency.  He is the only President who actively, an continuously, chopped at the credibility of the “Fourth Estate” (the press).

But Whut’s the Goal of Makin “Others” into “Liars”?

At this point an time, ah really hate to have to talk bout Pres Trump anymore.  Unfurtunately, in the modern political history of the USofA, he’s the “poster child” fur this kinda behavior.  So Pres Trump’s “lyin witout lyin” by convicin his followers that everone who criticizes him, specially the media, are actually the liars… he’s completely, totally, bigly, strongly tellin the Truth(iness)!

Now y’all might be askin yurselfs, “Well, Ranty, whut’s the big deal if’n politicritters convince sum folk that all the press/media’re a buncha liars?  Whut’s it to the MAGA folk, or even fur me?”

The Key Point

Lying like this is kinda like a vaccine aginst the truth!  No matter whut happens frum the point folk believe Trump’s lie bout others lyin bout him, they’all wudn’t know the truth if’n it hit em over the head.  An they’all’ll believe any Trump lie, no matter how outrageous cuz he’s theys source of “Truth”!

The video below’ll show y’all whut ah mean.  It ain’t Pres Trump doin the lyin, but frum the get-go, the guy talkin to Chris Wallace jus assumes folk’re gonna thunk Wallace is lyin an he is tellin the truth.

The Sad Reality

The really sad thang is that once folk’ve bin brain washed into thunkin this way, they’ll fall into believin other folk are they’s only source of Truth(iness).  We can see this happenin wit other Republican policritters, specially thems who’re deep into the latest “Q” (or other weird) conspiracy theory of the day/week/month.

The Bottom Line on Lying (“Source of Truth(iness)” Edition)

In a lotta ways, this’n’s like how folks’ll believe in the writins of they’s religion witout question.  Even if’n those writins, taken literally, can contradict themselves.  Faith is powerful that way.

Ah’m not criticizin religion at all.  Ah’m religious, even if ah don’t go to church as often as ah probly shud.  Then again, how many people do in these tryin COVID-19 times?

Point is, the problem comes in when folk apply to a person the same purfection they have fur they’s god.  Fact is even politicritters ain’t gods.  Fur that matter, they ain’t even saints or other truly “holy” folk.  Or even “holy“.  Cuz they’s a whole big differnce tween bein “religious” an “holy”.  But ah’ll probly talk bout that sumtime in the future.

Cuz of this, we need to keep in mind that most politicians (unless they dun give us gud reason to believe they ain’t liars) ain’t gonna tell us the truth, much less the Truth.  Most, specially those who don’t run on whut gud they’s gonna do, will only give us truthiness.

Anyhoo, don’t let anyone convince ya they’s the only source of truth.  Cuz 99.99+% of they time they’s lying to you!

This’ll be the last of this har series on Liars Tellin Lies Witout Lyin.  I might talk a bit bout other ways folks lie, but those won’t be part of this series.
