Ah bin readin an watchin on the InterTubes an such fur the last couple weeks an they’s a buncha folk that dun be sayin a lot of stuff bout COVID-19 that jus ain’t based on whut them scientists an medical experts dun be sayin. Heck, a lot of whut them folk be sayin jus don’t make no sense, neither.
Well, The Ranty Nation Folding Team dun bin foldin fur almos three weeks now an we’all dun gone frum being at the bottom of the list (bout #255374) into the top 6000 foldin teams! Now, course there dun only be two of us who be foldin, but we’all’re climbin them rankins faster’n a squirrel after a nut!
Why shud we haveta wear them durned masks? They weigh me down wit thar 1-2 oz. They can make mah face itch an on a bad day, ah might even git me sum pimples. Folk can’t see if’n ah’m smilin or frownin. They make it to whar ah even have trouble breathin sumtimes. An don’t even git me started on the whole mess if’n ah sneeze with one of them thangs on!
Nah, ah ain’t talkin bout doin sum laundry (tho come to thunk bout it, ah probly do need to do sum), ah’m talkin bout participatin in the “largest sooper-dooper compooter in the wurld!”
Now ah know that Pres Trump seems to like to hire folk like himself. You know, people who ain’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. But this has got to be the STOOPIDEST thang ah have ever hurd someone say in an lection year!
Now, of course, since all them COVID-19 death counts aren’t goin directly to the CDC anymore, but are bein filtered through Pres Trump’s Health and Human Services (HHS) director, ah’m kinda figurin that them numbers is bein, uh, “adjusted” before the CDC sees em. So, ah figure them numbers are on the low side since, as Pres Trump has admitted in public, he likes to “downplay” the numbers. In other wurds, he makes em lower than they really are.
Now y’all might be wonder, “what’s the point, Captn Obvious?” Well, COVID-19 (the Coronavirus), spreads REALLY FAST IN HUMANS. Humans have an average body temperature of 98.6 degrees F!!!
So, the Trump administration wanted the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) the best disease control an prevention organization in these har United States (if not the entire world) to downplay the risk of COVID-19 on our kids (an the related risk to their family, friends, an, frankly, everone)? Ah guess that the Trump administration dun thunk that appearance beats reality.
Just in case y’all don’t understand whut they dun mean by “herd immunity”, they’re talkin bout just lettin folk get COVID-19 until a whole bunch of folk git sick wit it and (hopefully) “live to tell the tale”.
